Leeds Adults Transplant Sports Team

Promoting physical & mental wellbeing post transplant through sport and friendship.

The Transplant Games is a vibrant celebration of the gift of life, dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of organ donation. It also serves to honour and appreciate organ donors and their families.

Since its inception in Portsmouth in 1978, the Games have evolved into a four-day event featuring over 20 different activities for more than 1,000 transplant recipients. Each year, the transplant community gathers at a different location, where teams from various hospitals compete in a diverse array of sporting events.

The Transplant Games are more than just a competition; they provide an invaluable opportunity for transplant recipients to connect, share their stories, and inspire others to engage in conversations about organ donation.

Supporting Recipients

Would you like a better quality of life? To get active again post your transplant? To hear and share experiences?

We aim to support recipients in their rehabilitation journey and help them prioritize their fitness, health, and overall well-being.

The sharing of experiences shows us all that we are never truly alone and there is also someone who has gone through something before to reac out to.

Remembering our Donors

We call organ donation "The Gift of Life," and it truly embodies one of the most amazing and wonderful gifts!

More than 50,000 people are alive today because of the incredible selflessness of organ donors—living life to the fullest, as you'll witness from our team!

We honor the generosity of these remarkable donors and their families every day and during all of our events.

The Transplant Games stand as an annual celebration of transplant patients and donor families.

Participants engage in a variety of sporting events, including running, swimming, cycling, tennis, snooker, squash, volleyball, basketball, darts, badminton, netball, and athletics.

A particularly poignant event is The Donor Run, it serves as a heartfelt tribute to all donors and their families.
